I started my half marathon training last week. Todd found a used treadmill at the thrift store for $10 so I decided there was no reason I couldn't start running more. I'd never run on a treadmill until last week and I've decided I haven't been missing much. Truth be told, I hate it! :) I love running outside and the treadmill seems to turn my "me time" into a chore. But if I can just make it through the next 6-8 weeks I'm hoping the roads will be thawed out by them! I did do a short 3 miles on Sat in the snow! It was a gorgeous day and I couldn't resist. Can't wait for a few more of those. January and February get so cold here.
Anyway so I started my training. Todd wants me to run this race in July. It looks like an awesome course but very challenging. I'll have to see how I feel in July. Todd also started running on the treadmill. I can tell if he starts really training that he's going to be so much faster than me :) He's thinking about doing The Run Around the Rim Race in April. I told him if he doesn't do it then I'm running it! I think it looks fun and like a good season opener to running.
So my exercise schedule has changed a little. I'm now running 4 days a week with max insanity on my off days. I've also been trying to squeeze some cc skiing in. We now have a groomed trail just 3 blocks down the road so I think it will be a great activity for me and Coleman to do in the afternoons. My weightloss is pretty slow as usual. I've lost about a pound in the last month. I'm trying to work more on my eating--hopefully I'll see some payoff soon!
I also started this push-up program. It's actually pretty doable and kind of fun! This is one place that I've actually seen some progress! YAY!
