Sneaky!

You all know that I have very picky eaters in my family, and I want to be a health nut and like almost every food around. I am trying to remedy this and make us all happy. I often steam or chop up veggies and put them in the blender and add them to our meals. Most anything I make with a tomato base I can put veggies in. I even have to blend my onions and tomatoes. It is worth it for me. I really worry about my kids and Joel not getting enough nutrients. Once I even blended garbanzo beans in with my pasta sauce (I myself love them on top of my pasta instead of meat). I don't have a very good blender, so I have to blend them for quite a while. Also, my family knows that I do this occassionally, but I still don't let them see me do it. We have a lot of green salads at my house because that is about all they will eat, nothing cooked. Let me know if you try it and what you used.

I have a hard time sneaking anything in at my house--thanks for the blender idea. I'll have to try it!

I know my neighbor in Wymount who was a big health nut would always sneak veggies into her food especially spaghetti. I know she liked to use carrots a lot. I wish I myself liked veggies more and beans too. I do love chinese food with a lot of vegetables. If I could have it that way every night I know I would eat a lot more veggies. I still have a hard time with beans, I think it is a texture thing. I do like black beans though and I don't mind refried beans. There are a lot of recipes that I think sound good but I know I won't like it. Crazy!
